How many pounds of resistance does each Cable represent? All Lifeline Cables are color-coded, with each color representing a different amount of resistance. As a rule, when the Cable is stretched to twice its normal length, the following list applies:- R1 Teal - 10 lbs
- R2 Purple - 20 lbs
- R3 Pink - 30 lbs
- R4 Magenta - 40 lbs
Please remember that resistances in the same color may vary slightly, due to natural variations in latex rubber. If you use the same Cables for every workout, you will be the best judge of your progress.
The variable resistance tubing (cable) has a tensile strength of 3000 lbs PSI but, the strength integrity of the tubing is only maintained when the tubing is free of cuts, nicks, burn marks, etc. It is important to examine the cable before each workout to be sure no imperfections have developed.
The cables are color coded to identify the strength level. Moving from weakest to strongest the strength level is as follows: R-1 Teal, R-2 Purple, R-3 Pink, R-4 Magenta
