We've taken one of the best materials for foam rollers, which is EVA foam, and produced it with a specific firmness we feel is an ideal balance of hardness for support and durability and a bit of softness for comfort. The TeraNova foam roller is finished with a honeycomb pattern for a better tactile feel and control. It's also constructed utilizing a process that assures a perfectly round and straight foam roller. EVA foam is very durable plus it's warm and soft to the touch.

Foam rollers are used to improve balance whether for general fitness, rehab sports performance. They are also used for pilates exercises and massage therapy. The all new for 2008 exervo™ TeraNova foam roller is constructed with the same material used for decades for cushioning in running shoes. This foam is super high density and cross-linked which increase the durability of the foam. EVA foam has excellent memory characteristics meaning it will regain it's original shape after being compressed. Rounded corners on the roller add to the comfort level.
Full foam rollers offer a significant challenge when used for balance training. They're recommended for experienced and advanced users. We recommend beginners and those recovering from injuries or who exhibit poor balance to start with our 3 foot half roller. Foam rollers are also used for self massage of the quads, hamstrings, calves, upper and lower back.

"Our new TeraNova foam roller is made with a light weight but very dense EVA foam cell structure. Each polymer chain in EVA is crosslinked which means they're all connected together. This property forms a very strong, durable roller. EVA foam also has a nice warm feel on the skin and is ideal for myofascial release and IT band syndrome work since the surface is not quite as hard as the PE2 or Nimbus. We've also added a hex pattern textured layer for even greater tactile feel. The TeraNova costs more than the PE2 but the greater longevity and esthetic feel of it makes the TeraNova an excellent choice for our customers who want to invest in a higher grade foam roller. Nefitco Foam Roller Firmness Scale |
Level 5 (L5), Very Firm: Very little give at the surface when kneeling on the roller. Deep massage pressure that may cause discomfort for some users and welcomed by others
Level 4 (L4), Firm: Slight give at the surface when kneeling on the roller. Deep massage pressure with slightly less discomfort than a Level 5 roller.
Level 3 (L3), Moderately Firm: Some give at the surface when kneeling on the roller. Moderate massage pressure with least amount of discomfort.
A note about massage pressure: Massage pressure is a factor of the hardness of the surface, the weight applied to the surface and the tolerance of the user. One way to control massage pressure for some exercises is to partially support your weight with your hands or elbows.
